ClearGuard
Privacy
ClearGuard blocks on your devices. It does not build a history of what you browse.
Last updated August 13, 2026.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the ClearGuard apps, website, account portal, and support. ClearGuard is built for adults and is not directed to children.
Browsing and device-only choices
ClearGuard does not retain your browsing history, DNS queries, screenshots, private messages, PINs, or arbitrary app names and tokens selected on a device.
Accounts and encrypted sync
If you create an account, ClearGuard may store your sign-in identities, subscription status, device names and public keys, partner connection, and basic protection status. Pro can also store your block list and Recovery data in an encrypted form that ClearGuard cannot read. Your approved devices hold the keys.
Optional public-page checks
If you turn on public-page checks, ClearGuard sends OpenAI a public page address without search terms and a short, automatically redacted text sample. ClearGuard excludes authenticated pages, mail, messages, and private inboxes and does not store the submitted sample.
Feedback and basic analytics
If you report a missed or incorrect block, ClearGuard stores the website and path shown on the confirmation screen, the correction type, and a random installation ID. Query values, page fragments, and page content are removed. Basic setup and campaign events use random identifiers and never include URLs, searches, notes, or check-in answers.
Service providers
ClearGuard uses Cloudflare for hosting and network filtering, Resend for email sign-in and invitations, OpenAI for optional public-page checks, and Apple, Google Play, or Stripe for purchases. ClearGuard does not receive your full payment-card number.
Why information is used
ClearGuard uses the limited information above to provide accounts and subscriptions, connect approved devices, deliver requested emails, keep protection working, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations. ClearGuard does not sell personal information or use browsing activity for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Basic setup and campaign events are kept for 30 days. Content corrections are kept for up to 90 days. Website lookups are not logged. Account records remain while your account is open and are removed when you delete it, except where limited records must be kept for security, billing, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Your choices and requests
You can use local Free protection without an account, turn off optional public-page checks, manage marketing preferences, disconnect a partner, and delete your account. You may also ask to access, correct, or delete personal information, subject to applicable law.
Where information is processed
ClearGuard and its service providers may process information in the United States and other places where they operate. ClearGuard uses appropriate safeguards when applicable law requires them.
Security and policy changes
ClearGuard uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account data, but no service can promise perfect security. Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
